Courses

We offer two main courses: Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi Set 1 and Set 2. The Courses are run online with one to one tuition or for groups we run 1 to 2 day workshops with expert tuition from our course instructors.

Each participant receives access to our training websites with written course materials, video instruction and lectures. Both our courses are accredited by The CMA and upon successful completion each student receives a certificate from Tai Chi for Better Health.

No previous experience is necessary for the Shibashi Set 1 course. But it is expected that you will have completed the Shibashi Set 1 course before embarking on Shibashi Set 2. Likewise, both Set 1 and Set 2 are prerequisites for the forthcoming Shibashi Set 3 course.

SHIBASHI SET 1 – PART 1

Shibashi Set 1 exercises are a gentle, beautiful and flowing set of 18 Qigong movements that is both a joy to do and deeply relaxing. Each exercise is designed to work on internal organs in the body as well as unblocking stagnant energy (Qi). This set is particularly suitable to those with restricted mobility as the exercises can be done whilst seated as well as standing. Health benefits can be felt within just a few weeks of practice.

SHIBASHI SET 1 – PART 2

Having learned the Shibashi form and studied and experienced the benefits, Part 2 prepares you to deliver your own classes in your communities as a newly-qualified Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi Instructor.

You will learn how to manage a class and teach the form, incorporating adaptions including Seated Shibashi.

SHIBASHI SET 2

The second set of Shibashi is a little more strenuous than the first and is good for circulation, balance, endurance and overall body coordination. But just like the first set, it is designed to clear blockages in the meridians and transport Qi around the body. The overall effect is to reduce mental stress and physical tension carried in the muscles of the body. Its 18 gentle movements can help to increase energetic vitality, rejuvenate the body, mind and soul, and gain more physical agility and flexibility.

SHIBASHI SET 3 (coming soon)

Shibashi Set 3 is a very rewarding and energising sequence, with intention becoming the focus of many of the 18 movements. In this way, Set 3 introduces the student to the internal practice of Nei Gong (Inner Work), focusing on deepening one’s practice, flow of Qi, fluidity of movements, body strengthening and coordination.

Many of the Shibashi Set 3 moves are physically demanding, and there are several opportunities to challenge the body with deeply strengthening forms.

We do run other Tai Chi and Qigong courses and workshops and would be happy to discuss these options with you. Please get in touch via email: taichiforbetterhealth@outlook.com
